Super excited, as the sun is out and wedding season has begun.
Huge congratulations to Rachael & Jim, who got married in Bromsgrove near Birmingham last weekend. Their wedding day was beautiful with clear blue skies all day. Massive thanks to them both for asking me to photograph their big day, as well as letting me drag them away to the fields just in time for this sunset shot.
It is rare that when planning your wedding day timetable and schedule that couples remember to leave enough time to spend creating beautiful couple photos. Weather its having the time to go to a beautiful location away from the party, or just simply allowing enough time for you to relax and not feel rushed from such a busy day.
If your couple photos are important to you, then it is important to schedule enough time to do them properly. For me they are my favourite part of wedding photography and the images I find the most beautiful, and which will be treasured the most throughout the ages. 45mins is a good amount of time to allow for your wedding couple photoshoot.
This shot was actually taken after the time allocated for the couple photos. But with the location of the wedding, and the perfect sunset, it was something we couldn’t miss on the day. The kiss looks like a staged pose, but it was actually a natural candid photo where I just left the bride and groom to have 5mins to themselves while I photographed them from afar with a canon 70-200mm telephoto zoom lens. With the perfect lighting situation during the ‘golden hour’, there was not much I could do to improve this image with postproduction editing in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Booking for 2018 are starting to get filled up so be sure to contact good wedding photographers as soon as you have your date and venue booked. I am available to shoot Beautiful wedding photography in any location. If you are searching for wedding photographers in Exmouth, Devon, Cornwall, Bristol, South West, then feel free to get in contact. I am now available for marriages who need a wedding photographer in Barcelona, Spain. Based in the Catalonia area, I can travel around Europe. English photographer in Barcelona, Spain.

On the 25th September 2016, Simon Law took on the Bristol Half Marathon, to mark the third anniversary since his heart attack. After three years of rehabilitation and training, he was finally at a stage of recovery where he was able to take on such a massive challenge. Since his heart attack, Simon has been looking for a way to give something back to the hospitals who provided him with excellent care and support in his time of need. He decided to specifically fundraise for Bristol Heart Institute through local charity, Above & Beyond.
This is when Simon and the Above & Beyond PR Team approached me to do a photo shoot. They wanted images to sit alongside a press release in the Bristol Post newspaper that outlined Simon’s story, not only to raise awareness, but also to raise money for this important cause. We shot a range of reportage images inside the BHI and the rehabilitation department of Bristol Royal Infirmary. In addition to this, Simon and I got up at the crack of dawn to do a creative shoot on the iconic Bristol Suspension Bridge. We wanted to convey his dedication to the half marathon and his ongoing recovery. This dramatic and impactful photograph portrays a good representation of what Simon does these days in order to remain fit and healthy. Not only was it a pleasure to be asked to shoot for Simon and the Above & Beyond team, but I also ended up running the Half Marathon with Simon too. It was great to have the Above & Beyond team cheering us on as we struggled past with only 2 miles to go. The only downside to the day was that Simon beat me!
Last photoshoot with the beautiful Katy Hooper in Bristol before I leave to be based in Barcelona. Katy Hooper needed a music video for her new song. We also did a photoshoot to help promote the video. Here is a photo from the shoot at the most stunning location as the sun was setting on a beautiful Summers evening in August. This hill in the heart of Somerset was the perfect location for her music video and photo-shoot.
So excited about next year when I will be moving shop to Barcelona. Dee will be our Photographer Bristol, so if you need a Bristol based photographer your emails will forward to her. I will be Fotografo Barcelona, so if you are in need of a Photographer Barcelona please get in touch. I will be out there shooting all the usual work. Corporate headshots, professional business portraits for Linked In, Meet the team photos, Music photography, Fashion Photography, Model portfolios, as well as shooting video for businesses, and music videos.
It would be great to work with you if you are based in Barcelona and in need of a portrait photography or film maker.
Linked In is a great platform for business, it’s invaluable for B2B networking, and the best way to show off your professional expertise. After building up your Linked-In Profile – with great content, endorsements and recommendations – you need to finish it off with a professional head shot. That “nice photo of you at that wedding” (normally with a drink) or a selfie from your iPhone just wont cut it if you want your clients to see you as a professional.
Here is a recent headshot from a studio photo-shoot with Bristol based financial adviser, Simon Law. Simon told me his business “is all about trust”, so like most of my clients Simon needed a portrait of himself to look friendly and approachable. Simon is a professional at Mortgage & Protect – and not a professional model – so like 95% of clients, he wasn’t in his comfort zone with a camera pointing at his face. This is where my expertise comes in.
Making my models feel relaxed and comfortable is my biggest aim during every photo-shoot.
Without achieving this I would not be able to capture natural smiles, showing you at your best.
The best way to create this relaxed atmosphere is to simply not take photos. 80% of the time during a headshot photo-shoot should be spent talking, drinking tea or coffee and building up rapport. Not only is it great is know about what makes my clients smile, I also need to understand everything about their business. From the clients they want to work with, to their business identity and branding.
In the end – not only was Simon Law happy, I was told that Mrs Law couldn’t find a fault with the portrait – so I count that as a win.
Having a corporate video on your company website is becoming so important these days.
We are constantly being told that only 20% of people visiting your business website will actually read the context, but 80% of people will click on a video to find out every important detail your clients will need to know about your business.
Quickly giving your website visitors all the important details of who you are, what your business is, and what your USP is, is the best way to convert visitors into sells. And the best way to do this is by having a corporate video on your landing page.
If you are searching for a photographer or film maker to make a visually exciting, professional and informative video for your business, look no further. Get your branding and strap line out there, and share your 60 seconds to bigger business networks by promoting your promotional video on social media platforms like, Linked In, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

I was so excited when I met Oliver and Paddy, and heard about their plan to set a Brewery in Exmouth, Devon.
Not only being a lover of great local beer, but also being born and raised in Exmouth, the idea of this exciting new business coming to my hometown was too good not to get involved with!
Honoured to have met some local celebs while shooting. And great to have the amazing Sam Green from Sam Green & The Midnight Heist to help out with the music.

Head shots aren’t as easy as people think. A good head-shot has to be the perfect balance of so many different elements. Professional head-shots – for your website, bio, Linked In, Facebook, Twitter, etc. – are going to be used as the ‘shop window’ to your business. They have to illustrate you as friendly, approachable, and a professional in your field. To capture all this you have to be relaxed and confident during the photo-shoot. This is why it is so important to find a portrait photographer that has to people skills and knows to make you feel relaxed and comfortable within seconds.
Promo video for Devon based ‘Clothing & Living’ company Sparks Clothing. The video was for a ‘Not On The High St.’ awards so they needed a film maker who could shoot a short video and edited some magic into it. Using some stop motion animation to magically move boxes on shelfs and folded clothing; Matilda – the latest member for the Sparks Clothing team – was truly the star of the show.
Warning: video contains high levels of cuteness!!!
Yesterday I got asked last min to photograph an event at the Colston Hall, Bristol for the Asian Arts Agency as their photographer dropped out. The show was Sain Zahoor Ahmad, a Sufi street musician from Pakistan. “I was seven years old when I started seeing a hand which would emerge from a grave in my dreams…” After this recurring dream as a child, Sain Zahoor devoted his life to singing at shrines and soon gained a cult following. Sain sings kafi, which are solo, song-like verses of Sufi poets. In 2006 he was the winner of for BBC World Music Award.
The performance was truly beautiful and mesmerising. But then – during the encore – words can not describe how crazy things got. After everyone getting up out of their chairs to dance, a stage invasion erupted. Men began to shower Sain Zahoor with money. £10 and £20 notes flooded the stage. Then at the end people surrounded the stage waiting to kiss Sain’s hand.

Tim & Debs could not have been more blessed with the weather for their Exmouth wedding. Blue skies all day in sunny Devon made for a perfect wedding starting with the ceremony in St John’s In The Wilderness, then on to Courtland House for the reception.
Bright sun shine does make the photography a little more challenging with the dramatic lighting, but when you get it right the photos end up looking magical, like this shot of the happy couple posing in front of the beautiful views of the river Exe.
There is nothing better then getting out of Bristol to return home to Exmouth for the summer – giving me the perfect excuse to see family and go to the beach – so if you are looking for a Exmouth Photographer for Weddings, Family portraits, or any other portraits, please get in contact.

Great day exploring Bristol city centre with Emma-Jay & Leigh. Searching areas near to Bristol Registry Office for all the best spots and beautiful locations to shoot their couple photos on their wedding day.
The couple photos are my favourite part of shooting wedding photography. I believe these to be the most important job for any wedding photographer. To me, getting to know a couple before I shoot their wedding is really important. Finding out how they fell in love, what kind of photography they like, and what locations they think are beautiful. Doing a Pre-wedding photo-shoot is a great chance for this. As well as letting a couple get to know me, so that they can feel relax and confident – not just in front of my camera – but also knowing that they have chosen the right wedding photographer.

It was so heart warming to see how happy the children are, from being given an opportunity to go to school. Definitely something that children in the UK take for granted.

Laurie Stuart from the WNO was looking for a Bristol based freelance filmmaker and photographer to document an event for Bristol Sings Music.
“Over 100 secondary aged boys from schools in and around Bristol met at Colston Hall for a day of workshops with singers from the hugely famous Welsh male choir ‘Only Men Aloud’ led by Tim Rhys-Evans MBE, and internationally acclaimed beatboxer Jason Singh.
The day culminated in a Colston Hall Foyer evening performance in front of an audience of hundreds.
The project was run by Laurie Stewart, project manager for Bristol Sings Music, in collaboration with Bristol Plays Music @ Colston Hall.”
I was commissioned to capture the energy and excitement of the day and produce a short video clip which could be shared on Youtube and social media.
Too many people say to me – before they have a photo-shoot – that “they don’t like having their photo taken”, or that “they aren’t very photogenic”.
I believe that the key to being a good portrait photographer is making sure everyone leaves the photo-shoot smiling, saying they had the best time and that they love the photos of themselves.
There are loads of tips, tricks, and photography secrets in achieving this in every photo-shoot. The most important thing is making sure the subject/model is feeling comfortable and relaxed in-front of the camera. Photographing people being naturally confident is at the heart of every one of my portraits.
