'In these days, after the photography revolution, when the digital overthrewn chemical photography, our relationship with the domestic image - private photographs and family snaps - has completely changed. The ‘photo album’, once grand objects that were treasured possessions, has now become virtual files and folders storing digital information of 0’s and 1’s. Images and memories of our family and friends are no longer stored in the safety of our homes, but ‘online’, a place that we cannot touch, only access through the usage of machines. No longer are our hands treated the delight of holding a photo album, flicking through and exploring pages, or touching images, but instead the photographs are made distant, displayed on screens and only touched by a mouse click.

Every image within this book is a portrait of one of my ‘friends’. Someone who I share, or have once shared a relationship with. The images have been taken from the insecure Internet, off ‘Facebook’, a networking website, and placed into the safety of a photo album. The photographs have been made into something physical and have returned to their traditional place and importance within a treasured photo album.'
